Hello Hello dear friends
Hope you are having a wonderful start to October. I just realized that did not write in September. Well, let me tell you about my last month. I had quite a month and then you will know why I couldn’t write.
First I got COVID, and I was kind of out for a good week or two in September, I am grateful for vaccines and all the hundred booster shots I have gotten...
I also enrolled myself in a wholesale class on how to sell stationery from Paper Camp. I have been selling stationery on and off from my Etsy shop. But without much success. When I told my friend Chelsey about how discouraged I felt, she immediately insisted that I look into this camp. I did and although it was kind of expensive for me I still went for it! The class was a lot of work, there was tons of information but Katie Hunt is amazing. She was very encouraging and helpful and has done this for eleven years. She shared a great wealth of information and made selling wholesale stationery into a step-by-step process so one can plan and work towards it.
It was really a great class and I am hoping to relaunch my wholesale business in January 2023. Here is an image of styled photos I took (I am trying to learn how to style my cards!!). If you want to follow my shop on Instagram its @shopladooladoo
Lastly, I am so excited to share a sneak peek at a project that is about to launch. We have been working on it for the past whole year and in the process of creating it, I not only created this thing that I am so happy and proud of but the best part was I made a wonderful friend.
The main lesson that I learned this year was the rewards of reaching out and creating work with other women.
This project started last year, almost at the end of last year. I was feeling really hopeless about my career and as well as going through some serious family issues. I could not find the next step so I decided I had to get out of my head. So I made a list of people I would love to work with. I reached out to Malika as I have been a huge fan of Instagram, to see if she wanted to collaborate on a project. To my surprise, she said yes! And then started our weekly conversations about food, motherhood, creative journey, and nourishing our bodies. This project took many shapes and forms but in the end, decided to create 25 recipes that are essentially vegan and vegetarian that a person can make and nourish themselves. While creating these recipes we kept on focusing on all the moms out there who are running around and forget to nourish themselves. The idea is to prepare some stuff on the weekend so you can quickly make yourself a bowl during your day and eat something simple and healthy. Of course, you can double the recipes and make them for the whole family.
What I gained from this experience is not only this wonderful product that we will be sharing with others but I understood for the first time the power of collaboration. It’s so hard to reach out to someone or try a new thing, the risk of failure is so high and I am really good at getting in my head and stopping myself but I am so glad I didn’t this time. I am definitely feeling a high from these two experiences as I am writing this.
To make these cards, I drew a lot of veggies and I have tons of sheets that I threw away here are some that I ended up liking.
Oh, my dear friends. Have I mentioned I like Cakes? I think if I could, I would actually eat cake every day of my life. But I can’t. so here is one of my favorites that my son made for my birthday. this is a yellow snack cake it’s by my favorite cook Mark Bittman. It’s like eating heaven. So so so good.
If you are interested in starting a wholesale stationery business I would totally recommend PaperCamp. Check it out. You will not be disappointed.
I just started reading The Anarchy. Well, I actually got it for my dad but he actually had other ideas and suggested we both read it and discuss it as he had a copy. I just started it but if you are interested in the history of British rule in India it is a must.
Wow, how cool that you collaborated and made a cookbook! I can't wait to buy it! I'll also check out your Etsy shop! Great updates after a tough September. ❤️
Congratulations on your new endeavor! You've worked so hard to get here. I'm delighted for you. :)
I hope your family are all doing okay now.
