Hi friends.
Here we are!! I was hoping to write about art but talking about politics instead. But I drew a small comic so it is easier to talk about it =)… Sorry, but I can’t think of anything else.
Not sure why I needed to make this comic. But I guess I wanted to make sense to myself and for future reference on why I am voting third party. I guess in the end I am going with the least evil option. Gosh, I don’t think I can make sense of anything honestly.
It is one of the hardest decisions I had to make but I can’t vote for someone so racist or someone who is so OK with killing and silencing people.
For my sanity after not painting for many many months, I forced myself to take a painting class at a local community college. It has been great! Just the act of forcing myself to drive to the class, pick up a brush, and paint for two hours, not thinking about the world and the grief I am feeling has been helpful. Here is a still life I made that I am proud of.
Below are some process images. For the first time, I felt making the painting was more fun than the outcome. Usually, I feel so anxious if the painting will look right or not. But this time playing with colors and different textures was fun, maybe because I am not doing it for a class. There is no pressure. It felt like playing and I guess it shows.

In other news, I am fundraising money for a beautiful Palestinian family. I have been talking to this family since the beginning of this year. They have two beautiful girls Mira and Lulu. If you donate $25.00 or more you can enter to win some fun stationery from my shop LadooLadoo.
Alright, my dear friends. hoping you all are taking care of yourselves in this crazy time.
xoxo

I do appreciate what you are saying and how difficult a decision it is.
However, I'm also reminded of the Nader voters in 2000 who inadvertently helped elect G.W Bush. In that case, GW won Florida by fewer than 550 votes. Those 97K Nader voters definitely tipped FL & the election to Bush (271 electoral votes) who left the Middle East in tatters. Those voters were also trying to make their collective voices heard for a strong third party.
A voter who is not voting for Harris IS voting for Trump. Especially those of you in MI, PA, NV, AZ, GA, NC etc....hold your noses and protect your hearts...the alternative is much worse!
I believe the younger demographics (Gen X and younger) agree with you but policies take years to change. I hope people will vote with history in mind and not only with their hearts.
Keep up with your beautiful artwork...I hope it brings you some peace. I will donate to your fundraiser. I hope those kids and their family will be out of darkness.
If we can't be changed by what we witness, what is the point of witnessing? Thank you for witnessing and letting yourself be changed by it and showing the rest of us what it looks like.
